Gweela Futsal Club is a not-for-profit sports club based in Noosa, Queensland.

Gweela FC organises futsal games, training and competition for 8-14 year old boys and girls who want to kick a round ball, have fun and keep fit…

…while keeping out of the sun and rain in a friendly, safe, local environment…

…making futsal a really easy and practical way to engage children in team sports.

Futsal is an indoor game based on football (soccer). It’s played on a pitch about the same size as a basketball court, with 5 players per side. The ball is smaller and less bouncy than a football, but the game is much faster, with an emphasis on agility and skill. Players get about five times as many touches on the ball as they do in the outdoor game, which means they develop new ball skills really quickly.

Gweela FC plays at the Noosa Leisure Centre on Sunday afternoons. From March to September we run friendly social games for kids and their parents. From October to February it’s competition time in the Noosa Futsal League.

Social futsal continues on Sunday 27 April 2025. NO SESSION on Sunday 4 May (due to Bookfest at NLC)

For social games, players don’t need to have any experience of futsal or football – all abilities are welcome.

They just need lightweight shirts and shorts, and non-marking shoes.

There’s no need to bring a football: we provide regulation futsal balls.

Water bottles can be refilled from a chilled fountain.

We encourage parents to stay, watch, and take part if kids need encouragement or help.

Fees for social games are $10 per player per session, covering the costs of court hire. They are paid on the day, by cash, card or mobile.

Players who want to take their futsal to a competitive level can get pro level coaching in Noosa with Real Brazil Futsal Academy.

Real Brazil are professional futsal coaches with decades of experience in Australia and Brazil, and a history of training futsal champions.

Real Brazil provides weekly training sessions after school on Thursdays, at Sunshine Beach State High School. Bookings can be made via Gweela FC: check here for more info.

From October it’s competition time! The Noosa Futsal League is organised by Sunshine Coast Futsal Association and runs matches in the 8/9, 10/11 and 12/13 age divisions.

Gweela FC enters teams in each age division: contact us if your child would like to join.
